Abstract |
The domestic construction industry is facing a severe labor shortage due to the aging of the native workforce and the reluctance of the younger generation to pursue careers in construction, leading to an increasing reliance on foreign labor. This situation may result in the deterioration of working conditions, an increase in safety accidents, and a decline in quality. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an index that can evaluate and improve the efficient utilization of construction labor. The purpose of this study is to propose a direction for the development of a construction skilled labor utilization efficiency index aimed at enhancing on-site productivity, reducing dependence on low-skilled foreign workers, and creating new high-skilled job categories. Through literature review, surveys, and analysis of international cases, the study identifies potential methods for developing a labor utilization efficiency index, and tests the effectiveness of the most relevant approach for domestic construction projects. It is expected that these efforts will contribute to the establishment of policy measures that promote productivity improvement and the efficient use of skilled labor. |
